Racing Incident Report

OLIVE OR TWIST was slow to begin. ACME OF SURPRISE got its head up on jumping and lost ground. TIGER TIGER was slow to begin and then on jumping got its head up. SPLIT SECONDS began awkwardly and bumped the inside gate of its stall. For some distance after the 800 Metres, NORTHERN ROSE was awkwardly placed tight inside the heels of TIGER TIGER (J Quinn) which shifted in slightly. J Quinn was advised to exercise more care. At the 700 Metres, MAGNIFICENT was bumped and carried wider by SHANGHAI FRIEND which shifted out. Shortly after entering the Straight, EL VIENTO was momentarily tightened for room inside ACME OF SURPRISE. After the 100 Metres, SPLIT SECONDS hung out under pressure. SPECTACULAR HIT was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, SPECTACULAR HIT was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed a significant amount of mucus in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, SPECTACULAR HIT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. SPLIT SECONDS and FANTASTIC STAR were sent for sampling.
