Racing Incident Report
SUCCESSIVE GAINS and MY CHIEF were slow to begin. On jumping, ELEPHANT DANCE knuckled. Near the winning post, SOLAR EMPIRE was carried in by DASHING CHAMPION which shifted ground. Because of this, SOLAR EMPIRE was not ridden out to the post as it normally would be. Some inconvenience was also caused to ELEPHANT DANCE which was racing to the inside of SOLAR EMPIRE. W C Marwing (BOBO DUCK) said he had ridden the horse in one piece of work leading into tonight's race and this work in his opinion was good. He said tonight he began well, went forward and obtained a nice position in the run, eventually being one off the fence behind the leaders and following DASHING CHAMPION. He said at the 700 Metres he became a little concerned as he had to ride BOBO DUCK along to maintain its position which he was able to do, however, in the Straight the horse was keeping on only fairly and when PACKING ANGEL went past him at the 200 Metres it stopped quickly and he became concerned and therefore did not persevere with the horse over the concluding stages. BOBO DUCK was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, BOBO DUCK was examined by the Veterinary Officer. No significant findings were made. Before BOBO DUCK can race again, it will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. PACKING ANGEL, DASHING CHAMPION and WEALTHY TREASURE were sent for sampling.
