Racing Incident Report

WINNING LAURELS was slow to begin and shortly afterwards was checked when crowded for room between NORTHERN FLYER which on jumping shifted in abruptly and D'OR WIN which after beginning awkwardly shifted out. WINNING LAURELS then trailed the field throughout and finished tailed off. The performance of WINNING LAURELS was considered unacceptable. Before the horse will be permitted to race again, it must perform competitively in an official barrier trial and will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After beginning awkwardly, D'OR WIN failed to muster speed and raced behind midfield. CITI CENTRE and ELETTARIN began awkwardly and got its head up. In the early stages, PRECIOUS MOMENTS proved difficult to settle. On straightening, RISING WIN was steadied away from the heels of ELETTARIN. In the Straight, D'OR WIN hung in badly, proved difficult to ride and near the 200 Metres shifted ground when not quite clear of SALUZI which as a consequence was steadied. In the Straight, PRECIOUS MOMENTS hung in badly and after the 100 Metres was steadied away from the heels of RISING WIN. Also in the Straight, CLANG'S PRIDE hung out, close to the winning post shifted out towards the heels of CHAMPION SPEED and as a result was not ridden out to the end of the race. Throughout the race, NORTHERN FLYER travelled three wide and without cover. WINNING LAURELS and PRECIOUS MOMENTS were sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, WINNING LAURELS and PRECIOUS MOMENTS were examined by the Veterinary Officer who said there were no significant findings. SHINING DRAGON and FANTASTIC WIN were sent for sampling.
