Racing Incident Report

LOK WAH TREASURE, LUCKY DICE and MILLENNIUM SUPREME were slow to begin. From the outside gate, FOR YOUR EYES ONLY, which was to be ridden quietly today, was taken back after the start and shifted across behind runners to a position close to the rail. At the 800 Metres, MILLENNIUM SUPREME was momentarily steadied away from the heels of SUPRA SMART KID which shifted in when only just clear. LOK WAH TREASURE made the turn after the 800 Metres awkwardly and got its head up on a number of occasions. At the 300 Metres, RICARDO and WISDOM EXPRESS bumped. D Whyte (PRIZES TREASURE) said he had been instructed to ride the horse which was having its first start over 1600 Metres today with cover if possible in the hope that it would finish the race off. He said PRIZES TREASURE began well and travelled into a forward position and after the 1200 Metres when it became apparent that MILLENNIUM SUPREME was going to cross to the fence in the lead, D Whyte was satisfied to let it go in order to provide him with cover. He said at this time he felt MILLENNIUM SUPREME would continue on and maintain the lead, however, near the 800 Metres SUPRA SMART KID crossed in front of MILLENNIUM SUPREME and the pace immediately slackened, this meant PRIZES TREASURE was further back than intended. He said after straightening he endeavoured to improve between MILLENNIUM SUPREME and SUPRA SMART KID, however, was unable to obtain sufficient room to do so and at the 200 Metres he therefore shifted to the outside of MILLENNIUM SUPREME to go forward. D Whyte was told his explanation would be recorded and whilst he may have been a victim of circumstances, in the opinion of the Stewards his ride on PRIZES TREASURE was not up to his usual standard. PRIZES TREASURE, MEHBOOB THE THIRD and LUCKY DICE were sent for sampling.
