Racing Incident Report

Shortly after the start, HIGHLAND DAWN was checked when crowded for room between SINK AND DRINK and SILLY BOY which was taken in by SPECTACULAR HIT which on jumping shifted ground. Also shortly after the start, FLYING KENNY, which had been a little slow to begin, and TOP DANCER were checked when crowded for room between ALBELA and MYSTIC SPIRITS, both of which shifted ground. In the early stages, SING AND DRINK proved difficult to settle and got its head up on a number of occasions. Near the 1000 Metres, HIGHLAND DAWN, SILLY BOY and SHABU SHABU were crowded for room inside the heels of FLYING KENNY (H K Yim) which shifted in when not quite clear. H K Yim was severely reprimanded. At the 800 Metres, THOUSANDS VICTORY was steadied away from the heels of SPECTACULAR HIT which became unbalanced when racing between PORT OF HOPE and MY CHOICE. At the 600 Metres, PORT OF HOPE was steadied when crowded for room between KING ERIE which shifted out slightly and SILLY BOY which had its head on the side when racing tight inside SHABU SHABU which momentarily shifted ground. No action was taken. After the 200 Metres, SHABU SHABU and HIGHLAND DAWN were steadied when crowded for room between PORT OF HOPE (A Delpech) which shifted out and MY CHOICE (A Marcus) which when hanging shifted in. In the circumstances, both A Delpech and A Marcus were severely reprimanded and told in similar circumstances they would be expected to make a greater effort to protect their fellow riders. Near the 100 Metres, KING ERIE was steadied when disappointed for running between MYSTIC SPIRITS and FLYING KENNY which when giving ground shifted in. SHABU SHABU, MY CHOICE and MYSTIC SPIRITS were sent for sampling.
