Racing Incident Report

LEUNG'S FAVOURITE and HAIL WINNER were a little slow to begin and shortly after the start was steadied when crowded for room between SUPER FORCE and MEHBOOB THE THIRD, both of which shifted ground. After this, LEUNG'S FAVOURITE shifted to the outside in an endeavour to go forward, but was unable to show sufficient pace, was obliged to race very wide and without cover, then commenced to give ground at the 400 Metres. MEHBOOB THE THIRD, which was to be ridden quietly from a wide barrier tonight, proved difficult to settle in the early stages and as a consequence was caught wide and without cover. On straightening, HAIL WINNER was steadied when crowded for room between RICARDO which shifted out and LEUNG'S FAVOURITE which was giving ground. At the 150 Metres, J Quinn (THE RICH MAN) dropped his whip. LEUNG'S FAVOURITE was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. A veterinary examination of LEUNG'S FAVOURITE after the race did not show any significant findings. RICARDO, ON SHAN EXPRESS and CITI CENTRE were sent for sampling. After the race, SUPER FORCE was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse was lame in the right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, SUPER FORCE will be required to pass an official veterinary examination.
