Racing Incident Report
AIN'T HERE was difficult to load. Before being allowed to race again, AIN'T HERE will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. GREENMORE and AIN'T HERE were slow to begin. On jumping, CHIU CHOW BROTHER was bumped by MY HONOUR which began awkwardly and then itself was bumped by KINGSTON WINNER which shifted out. After the 800 Metres, LOYAL DEVOTION put its head up when close to the heels of CHIU CHOW BROTHER. After the 400 Metres, GREAT DELIGHT was bumped by GOT IT GOOD which when giving ground shifted out. Over the concluding stages, HIDDEN DRAGON shifted out abruptly. When questioned, F Coetzee (HIDDEN DRAGON) said after the 1000 Metres he shifted his horse out from behind MONARDS, the horse immediately commenced to over-race and got its head up when it saw daylight between MONARDS and GOT IT GOOD. He said after this, GOT IT GOOD went a little further forward, HIDDEN DRAGON then relaxed. M Walker (GOT IT GOOD) said the horse made the Home Turn awkwardly, got its head up and shifted out. He said he was aware this left room for runners to improve on his inside, however, because of the manner in which GOT IT GOOD was racing, he was not able to hold his position upsides MONARDS. GREAT DELIGHT and GREENMORE were sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, GREAT DELIGHT was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed a significant amount of mucus in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, GREAT DELIGHT will be required to pass an official veterinary examination. A veterinary examination of GREENMORE after the race did not show any significant findings. HIDDEN DRAGON and FANTASY were sent for sampling. Following the race, it was noted GOT IT GOOD returned making an abnormal breathing noise. The horse was examined by the Veterinary Officer including an endoscopic examination which showed no significant findings.
Additional Veterinary Reports (released on 16 June 2003) :
Following the race, GREENMORE was examined by the Senior Veterinary Officer. He said there were no significant findings. GREENMORE was again examined at the stables of Trainer S T Wong yesterday morning by the Senior Veterinary Officer. He said at this time there was some stiffness in both front legs of the horse. GREENMORE will be subjected to a stringent pre-race examination tomorrow morning before it is decided whether the horse is suitable to start in the Broom Handicap to be run at Happy Valley on Wednesday 18 June 2003.
