Racing Incident Report
After arriving at the saddling stalls, GREENMORE was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse had an infected left elbow and in his opinion was not suitable to race. Acting on this advice, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of GREENMORE. Before being allowed to race again, GREENMORE will be required to pass an official veterinary examination. PEAK POWER began awkwardly. In the early stages, MULTIWINNING proved difficult to settle and on a number of occasions got its head up. On straightening, LUCKSWELL was inconvenienced and carried wider when CHIU CHOW BROTHER was carried out by AMBITIOUS TYCOON which was shifting to the outside of MULTIWINNING to obtain clear running. D Dunn (AMBITIOUS TYCOON) explained he had been asked to ride the horse in a rearward position as it was successful when ridden in that manner at its most recent start. He said he felt the tempo of today's race was against back markers, but having said that, when in the clear after straightening AMBITIOUS TYCOON did not respond to his riding. He said the manner in which AMBITIOUS TYCOON raced today indicated to him that it would be better suited in a more truly run race and on a track which was firmer than today's. AMBITIOUS TYCOON was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, AMBITIOUS TYCOON was examined by the Veterinary Officer. No abnormalities were detected. SHANGHAI KING, DARWIN and MULTIWINNING were sent for sampling.
