Racing Incident Report

MAGICAL WARRIOR was slow to begin. On jumping, TEMMOKU bounded in the air. For some distance approaching and making the Home Turn and in the early part of the Straight, MAGICAL WARRIOR was held up and unable to obtain clear running. Throughout the race, GREEN CENTURY hung out and after the 1400 Metres shifted out, causing LOYAL DEVOTION to be carried wider. D Dunn (GREEN CENTURY) explained the poor performance tonight could be attributed in his opinion to the horse not being able to handle the All Weather surface nor racing around two turns. D Whyte (RUN AND WIN), which performed poorly, explained the horse did not run out the 1650 Metres of tonight's race and pointed out it had previously performed poorly when racing over that distance on tracks that were not rain affected. He added when giving ground at about the 200 Metres, RUN AND WIN made an abnormal breathing noise. RUN AND WIN was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, RUN AND WIN was examined by the Veterinary Officer. No significant findings were made. Before being allowed to race again, RUN AND WIN will be required to pass an official veterinary examination. LOYAL DEVOTION was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, LOYAL DEVOTION was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said he was not able to detect any significant abnormalities. GLORY HERO, TEMMOKU and MAGICAL WARRIOR were sent for sampling. After the race, it was noted GLORY HERO had sustained a cut to its right hind leg.
