Racing Incident Report
After being boxed, LUCKY SUPERSTAR became fractious and got its head down, causing H K Yim, its rider, to be dislodged over its head and underneath the front gates of its stall. H K Yim said to the Starter that he was experiencing neck pain. Acting on this advice, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of LUCKY SUPERSTAR. While the start was delayed as a result of LUCKY SUPERSTAR being riderless, SIR OCTAVIUS became fractious, reared and had its left fore leg caught over the partition of the barrier. SIR OCTAVIUS was removed from the stall and examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said in his opinion the horse was not suitable to race. Acting on this advice, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of SIR OCTAVIUS. After being returned to the unsaddling enclosure, LUCKY SUPERSTAR was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse had sustained a laceration to the left hind leg. On jumping, FORTUNE LIFE and KING OF FISH bumped. MASCOT TREASURE was slow to begin. After the 600 Metres, TURF LUCK shifted away from the fence in an endeavour to improve. This caused MASCOT TREASURE to be carried wider. When TURF LUCK shifted away from the fence, SAGACIOUS immediately improved to the inside of TURF LUCK which then did not continue forward. Near the 400 Metres, FORTUNE LIFE was held up and unable to obtain clear running when following SAGACIOUS and TURF LUCK. On straightening, TURF LUCK was bumped by SAGACIOUS which shifted to the outside of KING OF FISH to obtain clear running. Near the 200 Metres, C'EST LA VIE was checked and shifted out to avoid the heels of EXPEDIENT which was giving ground. MASTER YING and ABLE WIN were sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, MASTER YING and ABLE WIN were examined by the Veterinary Officer. No significant findings were made. FORTUNE LIFE, SAGACIOUS and KING OF FISH were sent for sampling.
