Racing Incident Report

On jumping, HALO KING PRAWN and CLASSA VICTORY bumped. SMILING FOREST was slow to begin. From a wide barrier, ROUND THE WORLD was immediately steadied and shifted across behind runners close to the running rail. At the 900 Metres, EVER GLORY was steadied away from the heels of KNIGHT TEMPLAR which shifted in when barely clear. At the 600 Metres, FLYING SUCCESS, which was racing ungenerously, shifted out and was checked away from the heels of CLASSA VICTORY. MY FAVOURITE, which commenced to improve to the outside of FLYING SUCCESS, was steadied and shifted back in as a result. The occurrence was accidental. Shortly after straightening, FAVOURITE EXPRESS was bumped by SHABU SHABU which shifted in. For some distance near the 300 Metres, SMILING FOREST was unable to obtain clear running between HALO KING PRAWN and ROUND THE WORLD. To obtain clear running, SMILING FOREST was steadied and shifted to the outside of FLYING SUCCESS. After the 300 Metres, HALO KING PRAWN had difficulty obtaining clear running between CONVERGENCE and SHABU SHABU which was giving ground. To obtain clear running, HALO KING PRAWN was shifted to the outside of CONVERGENCE near the 200 Metres. After the 100 Metres, O Doleuze (FAVOURITE EXPRESS) dropped his whip. SURE FIT was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, SURE FIT was examined by the Veterinary Officer. The horse was noted to be making an abnormal breathing noise. An endoscopic examination was carried out. SURE FIT has previously been reported as a "roarer". However, the Veterinary Officer said in his opinion the condition has further deteriorated. CLASSA VICTORY and HALO KING PRAWN were sent for sampling. After the race, ROUND THE WORLD was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse was making an abnormal breathing noise. ROUND THE WORLD has previously been reported as a "roarer". Also after the race, it was noted DANEFACTOR had sustained a laceration to its right hind fetlock.
