Racing Incident Report

TRULY CONTENT shifted out abruptly at the start and bumped the hindquarters of ME AND YOU which also shifted in. This caused TRULY CONTENT to become badly unbalanced and blunder. QUICK NEWS was slow to begin, began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped the outside gate of its barrier. BRILLIANT ATTORNEY was slow to begin. ACE ACADEMY and MANSFIELD STAR bumped at the start. From the outside barrier, WISHES was immediately steadied and shifted across behind other runners to the running rail but at the rear of the field. In the early stages, GO GET THEM proved difficult to settle. At the 600 Metres, TOUCH DOWN, which was racing in an awkward position just to the inside of the heels of MANSFIELD STAR (D Whyte), was checked when that horse was carried in slightly by FLORAL DANCER (P Smullen) which shifted ground when not clear. ME AND YOU and TRULY CONTENT, which were following, were checked in consequence. In the circumstances, P Smullen was severely reprimanded. At the conclusion of the inquiry, D Whyte was told he would be expected to provide more straightforward evidence than he did on this occasion. On straightening, TRULY CONTENT was steadied and shifted to the outside of I AM OKAY to obtain clear running. Near the 200 Metres, ACE ACADEMY was steadied and shifted to the outside of ME AND YOU to obtain clear running after being disappointed for a run between that horse and GO GET THEM which when giving ground was brushed by TOUCH DOWN and shifted out. MANSFIELD STAR, TOUCH DOWN and WISHES were sent for sampling.
