Racing Incident Report

CLASSA WIN left the gates awkwardly. GOLDEN GONG jumped awkwardly, shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of WISE CHOICE. Just after this, WISE CHOICE was bumped on the shoulder by UNBREAKABLE which on jumping turned its head to the side and shifted in. In the early stages, GOLDEN GONG pulled hard and several times was steadied when close to the heels of STRATEGIC SELECT. About the 1200 Metres, SHABU SHABU, which was pulling, was awkward when close to the heels of FAVOURITE EXPRESS. Near the 700 Metres, STRATEGIC SELECT was unbalanced when close to the heels of SPRINTER and tight inside PRIME VAIN. About the 300 Metres, WISE CHOICE was steadied and shifted out when disappointed for running inside PERPETUAL PLEASURE and again near the winning post WISE CHOICE was steadied when close to the heels of TOP DANCER. About the 100 Metres, SHABU SHABU was checked when crowded for room between PERPETUAL PLEASURE which shifted out slightly and EARL GREY (G Schofield) which shifted in. G Schofield was advised he should exercise more care and if in a similar situation he should stop riding and straighten. When SHABU SHABU checked, TOP DANCER was steadied and shifted out abruptly. Approaching the winning post, EARL GREY and PERPETUAL PLEASURE bumped. About right on the line, EARL GREY and SPRINTER came together. S K Sit (GOLDEN GONG) was reprimanded for excessive use of the whip on a well beaten horse. WISE CHOICE was sent for a clinical veterinary examination and sampling. After the race, WISE CHOICE was examined by the Veterinary Officer. No abnormalities were detected. PERPETUAL PLEASURE and SPRINTER were sent for sampling.
