Racing Incident Report

PERFECT SHADOW was withdrawn on 22.10.02 on veterinary grounds (left hind abrasions and lacerations) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter NATIVE LANGUAGE (D Whyte). When the gates opened, TOUCH OF CLASS bounded in the air, bumped the inside of the starting gate, as a consequence of this got well back, then about the 1000 Metres was awkward, got its head up when close to the heels of FORTUNE LAD and tight inside PAR AVION. On jumping, POT BLACK and FAIRWAY FINDER bumped. Because of this, FAIRWAY FINDER was badly unbalanced, shifted in and bumped MUNDAHISH across the heels of NATIVE LANGUAGE. Shortly after the start, PAR AVION and FORTUNE LAD came together. Just after straightening, TOUCH OF CLASS was shifted out to avoid the heels of MUNDAHISH, about 100 Metres out again shifted ground and bumped WINNING WAYS. For some distance after the 200 Metres, BUDDIES POWER was held up behind FAMOUS BRAND which was weakening, after the 100 Metres was shifted to the outside of FAMOUS BRAND to find running. FAIRWAY FINDER was obliged to travel wide for most of the race and without any cover. TOUCH OF CLASS was sent for a clinical veterinary examination and sampling. On examination of TOUCH OF CLASS, it failed to reveal any abnormalities. NATIVE LANGUAGE and AFICIONADO were sent for sampling. After the race, it was reported that FORTUNE LAD had shifted its left hind plate.
