Racing Incident Report
GREENMORE was slowly away. Just after the start, MOMENTUM bumped the hindquarters of BILLION WIN and became unbalanced. Rounding the turn, DR MORE and CARACOLER came together. For a short distance about the 300 Metres, SUN SHINE RIVER was held up for running between TRILLION WIN and BILLION WIN. For a little distance near the 200 Metres, GREENMORE was awkward behind TRILLION WIN which was giving ground and to find running was shifted out. Approaching the 200 Metres, REBEL LEADER was checked when disappointed for running between MAGIC HANDS and MONARDS which was giving ground. For some distance after this, REBEL LEADER was held up, after the 200 Metres was shifted in in an endeavour to find running, was then held up on the heels of BILLION WIN, near the winning post was shifted in to find running. Because of these incidents, REBEL LEADER was not properly tested out in the Straight. Whilst the Stewards acknowledged the riding of D Whyte (BILLION WIN) in the run to the line did not affect the horse's finishing position and accordingly a breach of Rule 100(2) did not occur, they did however advise D Whyte he should ride all mounts out at least hands and heels to the end of the race whenever possible. TRILLION WIN was sent for sampling and a clinical veterinary examination. DR MORE and SUN SHINE RIVER were sent for sampling.
