Racing Incident Report

GRANDIOSO left the gates very awkwardly. EPIC EXPRESSION was slowly away. In the early stages, ALL THE BEST was inclined to pull and several times got its head up when close to the heels of INDUBITABLY BLISS. Approaching the 200 Metres, GRANDIOSO, which was making some ground, was shifted in abruptly to find running. S Dye (GIFT) said in the early and middle stages particularly, the horse was not happy in the track conditions, several times became unbalanced and dipped and did not stretch out as expected. He said the horse does have a tendency to pull, but tonight at no stage was it on the bit. He said in the Straight GIFT did make some ground when properly balanced, but generally was passing horses that were beaten. GIFT was sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing. After the race, the Veterinary Surgeon examined CENTURY HORSE and said in his opinion the horse was suffering from a heart irregularity. Before being allowed to race again, CENTURY HORSE will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and will be required to pass an official veterinary examination.
