Racing Incident Report
After being boxed, NAMJONG HEART became fractious and attempted to break through. The horse was released from the gates, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and following the necessary consultations he said the horse in his opinion was suitable to race. Before being allowed to race again, NAMJONG HEART will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. Turning out of the Straight the first time, GOLDEN SPIRIT became unbalanced and threw its head about when racing close to the heels of A CANDY. In the Straight, NAMJONG HEART had a tendency to get in and as a consequence of this about the 200 Metres, M Cahill momentarily stopped riding and changed his whip hand. When questioned, Apprentice K K Lai (INTERVENE) said his instructions had been to lead if possible. He said he gave the horse a strong preliminary and kept it moving before being boxed. He said however because of the problems caused by NAMJONG HEART, INTERVENE did seem to be in the stalls for a long time, was very relaxed and when the gates did open, INTERVENE stood flat-footed, was slowly away, as a consequence got well back. RESOURCEFUL PRINCE and GOLDEN SPIRIT were sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing.
