Racing Incident Report

On jumping, from an outside gate, MONEY was steadied and shifted across behind other runners to take up a position at the rear but on the rail. Then about the 100 Metres, MONEY, which was closing off quite strongly, was steadied and shifted in when disappointed for running between BEAMING RIVER and JET JACKSON. From an outside gate, CALIFORNIA KID was ridden forward to try and get in, was unable to do so, was obliged to race wide throughout without any cover and over the concluding stages dropped out. D Dunn (CALIFORNIA KID) said in the Straight when the horse was dropping out, he was concerned with the way it was travelling and he thought something was wrong with it, therefore he eased it down. Before being allowed to race again, CALIFORNIA KID will be required to pass an official veterinary examination. About the 800 Metres, BEAMING RIVER became unbalanced and shifted ground abruptly when over-racing and close to the heels of UNITY. Near the 700 Metres, MISSION SEALED brushed the running rail. On straightening, JET JACKSON became unbalanced and dipped. In the Straight, GOODWOOD raced ungenerously and shifted a lot of ground. Because of this, B Fayd'herbe stopped riding several times and changed his whip hand. BEAMING RIVER was sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing.
