Racing Incident Report
BOLD VISION, which was standing with its head turned slightly to the off side, was slowly away, was then bumped on the hindquarters by MALAYAN GEM which had left the gates awkwardly with its head up and shifted out abruptly. On jumping, OVER SUBSCRIBE and INDY'S GEM came together. Turning out of the Straight the first time, TATTENHALL, which was inclined to be pulling, was steadied to avoid the heels of MILLENNIUM LEGEND (W M Lai) which shifted in when not quite clear. W M Lai was told he must exercise far more care. Approaching and rounding the Home Turn, PERFECT MOMENT, which was racing in a rearward position, hung in. BOLD VISION was sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing. After the race, the Veterinary Surgeon said MALAYAN GEM was significantly lame in its off side front leg. Before being allowed to race again, MALAYAN GEM will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and will be required to pass an official veterinary examination.
