Racing Incident Report
CYBER WISDOM left the gates very awkwardly, then in the early stages proved very difficult to settle, pulled and turning out of the Straight the first time made contact with CHAMPION BOY. TREASURE STAR jumped somewhat awkwardly, shifted in and bumped the hindquarters of ALWAYS ON. From a difficult gate, COMFORT was obliged to race wide throughout, was not able to find any cover and over the concluding stages dropped out. W Woods (CHAMPION BOY) explained the horse became unbalanced several times, was reluctant to hold its position, appeared to be jumping and bounding in the air and he was unable to find the reason for this. Mr L Fownes, trainer of the horse, said before arriving in Hong Kong it trialed well in New Zealand, the horse is thought to have some ability and prior to its last run trialed satisfactorily. Mr Fownes was told the performance of the horse was causing the Stewards concern and before being allowed to race again, it must once again perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial around a bend. ALWAYS ON was sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing.
