Racing Incident Report

HOLLYWOOD STAR was withdrawn on 19.2.02 on veterinary grounds (sore near fore suspensory ligament) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter CASH. Before being allowed to race again, HOLLYWOOD STAR will be required to pass an official veterinary examination. CASH missed the start badly. On jumping, UNCONDITIONAL LOVE was checked between GLORIOUS WINNER which shifted in and MAGIC WIN which shifted out slightly. ALLEZ ALLEZ missed the start slightly. For some distance in the middle stages, WINNING SUPREME raced awkwardly between GLORIOUS WINNER and FLORAL REGENT. About the 500 Metres, GOLDEN WARRIOR accidentally struck the heels of FLORAL REGENT, knuckled and nearly fell. The occurrence in the opinion of the Stewards was accidental. After the 200 Metres, MAGIC WIN, which was giving ground, was steadied when unnecessarily crowded for room by MISSION POSSIBLE (O Doleuze) which when hanging in shifted across the running of MAGIC WIN. In the circumstances, no direct action was taken, but O Doleuze was reprimanded and told in similar circumstances he must stop riding and straighten. In the Straight, MEGA-FIGHTER hung in. O Doleuze said the horse has not been finishing its races off as it should, today racing in a visor and from an outside gate it was decided to try and go forward in the early stages and take up a position much closer to the lead. Subsequent to the race, M Kinane (WIN IT ALL) expressed the view the horse may be sore in front. WIN IT ALL was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon. He was unable to find any abnormality. Before being allowed to race again, WIN IT ALL will be required to pass an official veterinary examination. MAGIC WIN was sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing.
