Racing Incident Report

On leaving the Parade Ring, CHARIOT OF STORM made contact with a rail. After arriving at the gates, CHARIOT OF STORM was trotted up, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and after the necessary consultations was passed suitable to race. After arriving at the Start, the ring bit fitted to the bridle of FORTUNE MAKER was re-positioned. V-CAN left the gates very awkwardly, as a consequence of this L Hammer-Hansen was momentarily unbalanced. On leaving the gates, DASHING WINNER threw its head about. PROJECTSTAR was slowly away. When the gates opened, GRANDIOSO got down behind, came out very awkwardly and as a consequence lost a lot of ground. On jumping, GRAND FIGHTER bounded in the air. About the 400 Metres, GRANDIOSO became unbalanced when awkwardly placed between SPLENDID PATROL and FORTUNE MAKER which shifted out slightly. Shortly after this, GRANDIOSO was shifted to the inside of FORTUNE MAKER. On pulling up, Y T Cheng was dislodged from SPLENDID PATROL. S Dye (SAINTLY PARTNERS) said the horse had previously raced in blinkers, with that gear was difficult to settle. He said the horse had its last start at Happy Valley without blinkers, travelled kindly in the run and today raced again without blinkers, but when put under pressure the horse was inclined to get its head up and become unbalanced. SAINTLY PARTNERS was sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing.
