Racing Incident Report

INDIAN ROAD jumped awkwardly, bumped the outside of its stall. On jumping, CORAJOSO shifted out abruptly and bumped SENSIBLE MIND. Approaching the 800 Metres, SENSIBLE MIND got its head up, hung in away from FLYING MACHINE and struck the running rail. As a consequence of this, CORAJOSO, which was following, became unbalanced, got its head up and hung out badly across the heels of SENSIBLE WAY. Because of this, AMBITIOUS TYCOON was checked and was shifted out abruptly. After this incident, CORAJOSO continued to hang out. About the 500 Metres, FLAGS UP was checked when disappointed for running inside CORAJOSO which had been hanging out and at this time was giving ground. In the early part of the Straight, INDIAN ROAD was unable to obtain running between COLOURFUL ERA and NEVER SAY NEVER. After the 300 Metres, INDIAN ROAD was shifted out to find running and go forward. Near the 200 Metres, FLAGS UP was steadied when making ground close to the heels of SENSIBLE MIND which was giving ground and inside CORAJOSO. About the 200 Metres, NEVER SAY NEVER was momentarily unbalanced when awkwardly placed between AMBITIOUS TYCOON and COLOURFUL ERA. D Whyte (KING CONFIDENT) said in the Straight he was concerned with the horse's action in front, as a consequence in the run to the winning post eased KING CONFIDENT down. He also said when trotting back to scale, he was still concerned with the action of the horse. After the race, the Veterinary Surgeon said he examined KING CONFIDENT and was unable to find any abnormalities. Before being allowed to race again, KING CONFIDENT will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and must pass an official veterinary examination. FLYING MACHINE and KING CONFIDENT were sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing.
