Racing Incident Report
On jumping, ANIMATED PLAYTHING and GANBARIA STAR were severely checked when crowded between DON CARLOS which shifted in slightly and HONG KONG STAR which left the gates awkwardly and shifted out abruptly. The occurrence in the opinion of the Stewards was accidental. Just after the start, PEARL AND GOLD and DARWIN bumped. In the early stages, HONG KONG STAR pulled hard and proved very difficult to settle. About the 1400 Metres, PEARL AND GOLD and APPLIED SUPREME came together. About the 800 Metres, FORTUNE TYCOON, which was racing close to the heels of DARWIN, shifted out abruptly. As a consequence of this, DON CARLOS and HAPPY HARVEST were inconvenienced and obliged to race wider. When giving ground in the Straight, PEARL AND GOLD hung in badly. Approaching the 200 Metres, DON CARLOS, which had been covering ground throughout and at this stage giving ground, was checked when crowded between FORTUNE TYCOON which shifted out slightly and HAPPY HARVEST which shifted in slightly. In the run to the line, EXCEPTIONAL hung in.
