Racing Incident Report
TRULY HAPPY left the gates very awkwardly and shifted in abruptly. ROYAL ARMY missed the start slightly and in the middle stages proved very difficult to settle. Rounding the first turn, KIMBER hung in. Near the 1000 Metres, FAT CHOY TREASURE was steadied to avoid the heels of SENSIBLE WAY (H K Yim) which shifted in when only just clear. H K Yim was told he must exercise far more care. In the early part of the Straight, ROYAL ARMY, which was hanging in, steadied and shifted to the outside of GOLD CHARM and about the 200 Metres ROYAL ARMY was again eased when on the heels of GOLD CHARM. In the Straight, SENSIBLE WAY hung in. S Dye (INTERVENE) said he had discussed the riding of the horse with the trainer who is in Australia. It was thought best from the inside gate that S Dye should decide in the run whether to lead or take a sit on the horse. He said the manner in which the race was run tonight there was no chance of INTERVENE leading. He said he obtained a good spot in the run, then over the concluding stages INTERVENE did not finish the race off as anticipated. INTERVENE was sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing.
