Racing Incident Report
On jumping, KENWOOD MELODY and FALVELON brushed. When SOLID CONTACT left the gates, it threw its head about. PLENTY-PLENTY was slowly away. NICE ONE CLARE left the gates a little awkwardly. About the 500 Metres, THE TRADER shifted in abruptly from behind CENTURY KID. After the 300 Metres, THE TRADER was steadied and shifted out when disappointed for running inside CENTURY KID. When asked about the disappointing performance of MEJIRO DARLING, Y Yoshida said the horse was in good condition going into today's race and it was anticipated it would run well. He said MEJIRO DARLING in its races usually shows more speed than it did today and is able to race towards the front with some degree of ease. He said however this was not the case today, he had to ride MEJIRO DARLING along to maintain a forward position and pulled the whip 600 Metres out. In the run to the winning post, MEJIRO DARLING dropped out and was very disappointing. He was unable to put forward any real reason for the performance. MEJIRO DARLING was sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing.
