Racing Incident Report
After arriving at the barrier, B Marcus reported to the Veterinary Surgeon that SUPER BLITZ had made contact with the rail on the way to the Start. The Veterinary Surgeon said he examined SUPER BLITZ, the horse trotted up sound. The necessary consultation was carried out and it was then decided the horse was suitable to race. When the gates opened, GRANDIOSO, which had its head turned slightly to the near side, was slow out. CONVERGENCE left the gates awkwardly with its head up, shifted in and caused some inconvenience to NAUGHTY NAUGHTY. EPIC EXPRESSION was slowly away, just after the start was crowded for room between CHUTZPAH and PROJECTSTAR, both of which had shifted ground. SUPER BLITZ, which was having its first race start, missed the jump. For some distance in the early stages, NAUGHTY NAUGHTY raced ungenerously and threw its head about. Near the 800 Metres, BACCURA was crowded for room and lost its position from between CONVERGENCE and COMME D'HABITUDE which had a tendency to race ungenerously and threw its head about when close to the heels of NAUGHTY NAUGHTY. In the circumstances, no action was taken. For some time after this, COMME D'HABITUDE continued to throw its head about when close to the heels of NAUGHTY NAUGHTY. Approaching and rounding the Home Turn, SNIPPEDYDOODA hung out. Rounding the Home Turn, COMME D'HABITUDE hung out. In the run to the winning post, ALL THE BEST shifted out, this caused some inconvenience to SNIPPEDYDOODA which was taken out. Because of this, close to the winning post, GRANDIOSO was checked off the heels of SNIPPEDYDOODA. SNIPPEDYDOODA was sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing. After the race, it was noted PROJECTSTAR had lost its near side front plate.
