Racing Incident Report
ASIA STAR left the gates very awkwardly and threw its head about. On jumping, SWEETIE was momentarily tightened between SUNNY which shifted out slightly and WINNING MASCOT. Near the 600 Metres, CIRCUIT KINGDOM and SWEETIE raced tight inside TAI PO FRIEND. Near the 400 Metres, SWEETIE, which had been awkwardly placed for some time, struck the running rail when crowded by CIRCUIT KINGDOM which was having its first race start and had a tendency to shift in away from TAI PO FRIEND. About the 200 Metres, SUNNY was steadied when tightened between WELL EXPRESS and WINNING MASCOT which was taken out slightly by SONIC. Whilst the Stewards considered the riding of J Egan (SWEETIE) in the run to the line did not in any way affect the horse's finishing position and accordingly a breach of Rule 100(2) clearly did not occur, they did however advise J Egan he should ride all mounts out at least hands and heels to the end of the race whenever possible. SUNNY was sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing.
