Racing Incident Report

On jumping, FRENCH FRY threw its head up. KING HORSE was slowly away, then raced very greenly particularly in the early stages. About the 1300 Metres, GRAND STAR, which was pulling, shifted out from behind JOKERS WILD. As a result of this, HIN YUEN'S UNICORN was momentarily obliged to race wider. About the 800 Metres, FRENCH FRY was steadied when momentarily awkward on the heels of SMART HORSE. S King (ZINEDINE) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)]. The careless riding being that about the 300 Metres he allowed his mount to shift in when not clear of RACE TO HONOUR. As a consequence of this, RACE TO HONOUR was crowded onto SMART HORSE and checked. S King was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Sunday 2 December 2001 on which day he may resume race riding (3 Hong Kong race days). The commencement of the suspension was deferred until after the meeting at Happy Valley next Wednesday, 21 November 2001. About the 100 Metres, SMART HORSE and EMPIRE COURT were endeavouring to improve between ZINEDINE which was continuing to shift in and MASTER MAGIC which had a tendency to shift out slightly. This resulted in EMPIRE COURT being carried onto the heels of MASTER MAGIC and checked and SMART HORSE being momentarily crowded for room. The Stewards were not able to attribute responsibility for this incident to any rider or riders and accordingly no action was taken. In the run to the winning post, FULL THROTTLE hung out.
