Racing Incident Report
Whilst parading for the race, BELLAGIO kicked out and made contact with a rail. After arriving at the Start, BELLAGIO was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said the horse was suitable to race. HOSSEGOR missed the start slightly, was then crowded for room between CUPID and TAMBORA STAR, both of which had shifted some ground. From a difficult gate, LUCK AND FORTUNE was obliged to race wide throughout and at no stage was able to find any cover. About the 700 Metres, CUPID was steadied when disappointed for running between OPTICAL FAMILY and TEMMOKU. Also about the 700 Metres, HIGHLAND LEGEND struck the running rail when crowded by FAIR LADY which was taken in by BELLAGIO which was giving ground and hanging in badly. No action was taken. In the Straight, HOSSEGOR hung out. FORTUNE PRIZES and LUCK AND FORTUNE were sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing.
