Racing Incident Report
On arriving at the course, METRO TRAVELLER had its near side front shoe replaced. LEGEND'S GLORY jumped awkwardly with its head down, as a consequence of this S Baster was momentarily unbalanced. QUICK STEP was slowly away, was then further inconvenienced when crowded for room between MILLENNIUM LEGEND and INDY'S GEM which on jumping shifted out abruptly. Just after the start, WE KNOW WHEN shifted in and bumped WINNING YEARS which in turn shifted in abruptly and bumped LEGEND'S GLORY. About the 800 Metres, QUICK STEP was steadied when awkward just inside the heels of SPECTACULAR TALK. For some distance rounding the turn, QUICK STEP was awkwardly placed behind SPECTACULAR TALK and tight inside WE KNOW WHEN. From straightening until about 100 Metres out, SPECTACULAR TALK was held up for running. QUICK STEP was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing. Subsequent to the race, J Egan reported that SUPERIOR TITLE was making an abnormal breathing noise. The horse was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who performed an endoscopic examination but was unable to detect any abnormalities.
