Racing Incident Report
Prior to the race, FORTUNE ASSOCIATES had its off side hind plate replaced. Just after the start, Apprentice K C Tsang (GOLDEN WARRIOR) dropped his whip. Near the winning post the first time, FLORAL CHEERS was steadied when momentarily crowded by GOLDEN WARRIOR which was being ridden along and had a tendency to lay in. Near the 600 Metres, CYBER GULCH and AMBITIOUS WINNER came together. About the 200 Metres, FAITHFUL ASSURANCE, which for some distance had been awkwardly placed behind CITY FORTUNE, shifted out and brushed GOLDEN WARRIOR. In the Straight, SPECTACULAR WIN hung in. Because of this D Whyte stopped riding and changed his whip hand. In the run to the winning post, CYBER GULCH shifted in. W C Marwing (SMART MONEY) explained the horse showed little interest in the race throughout, despite his efforts SMART MONEY was not able to keep up. CITY FORTUNE and SMART MONEY were sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
