Racing Incident Report

Just before the gates opened, LYPHARD'S LAD put its head down, as a consequence came out awkwardly and just after the start was steadied away from the heels of FORTUNE REACHING. GUESS WHAT left the gates very awkwardly, shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of SAI KUNG STAR. About the 1100 Metres, UNIVERSAL GLORY was checked when crowded for room between FORTUNE REACHING and AMIABLE (Apprentice K C Tsang) which shifted in. Apprentice K C Tsang was severely reprimanded and told he must exercise more care. Shortly after straightening, KOWLOON JAZZ was checked and shifted out when crowded between EQUINE SUPREMO and LYPHARD'S LAD which shifted out. In the Straight, FORTUNE REACHING hung out badly, because of this proved very difficult to ride out and about the 200 Metres E Saint-Martin had to momentarily stop riding and change his whip hand. At about the 200 Metres, Apprentice K C Tsang dropped his whip. In the run to the winning post, UNIVERSAL GLORY shifted out towards MR BRINKER. After the race, it was noted that LYPHARD'S LAD had lost its off side front plate. Following the race, the Veterinary Surgeon noticed that UNIVERSAL GLORY was bleeding from the off nostril. An endoscopic examination convinced the Veterinary Surgeon that UNIVERSAL GLORY should not be declared an official bleeder.
