Racing Incident Report

NIGHT STAR began very awkwardly, shifted out, became unbalanced and dipped. FAT CHOY TREASURE left the gates awkwardly and shifted out. A RUN OF LUCK jumped awkwardly and threw its head about. Shortly after the start, BOXING DAY was unbalanced when awkward between NAMJONG SPIRIT and A RUN OF LUCK which momentarily shifted in. For some distance in the early stages, MASTERPIECE proved very difficult to settle and raced with its head up and running to the first turn shifted out, as a consequence of this JIMMY THE GREEK which also was inclined to be pulling was taken out and checked from inside FAIRWAY FINDER. After the 800 Metres, EL VIENTO, which was pulling and proving difficult for Apprentice C H Tse, shifted out. As a consequence of this, general crowding occurred on its outside. The main sufferer was FAIRWAY FINDER which was checked. However, in view of all the circumstances, it was decided no action should be taken. In the early part of the Straight, JIMMY THE GREEK was unable to obtain running, was shifted out and then approaching the 200 Metres was steadied and shifted in when disappointed for running between MASTERPIECE and A RUN OF LUCK which shifted out. Approaching the 200 Metres, NIGHT STAR was steadied and shifted in abruptly when disappointed for running between ACE OF PACE and EL VIENTO which shifted out.
