Racing Incident Report

The float bringing AUTHORISED to the races was involved in a traffic accident which meant AUTHORISED was late arriving. The horse was examined on arrival and found suitable to race. GET IT EASY missed the start slightly, then was checked rather severely when crowded between PRIVATE LIFE and TELECOM CHIEF, both of which shifted some ground. AUTHORISED left the gates awkwardly with its head up, shifted in and made contact with AMERICAN CHAMPION. In the early and middle stages, PRIVATE LIFE was obliged to race wide and made the turn near the 1000 Metres awkwardly. About the 1000 Metres, ZABETTE was momentarily awkward on the heels of SUCCESSFUL SPIRIT and steadied, this caused some inconvenience to TELECOM CHIEF and also to PRIVATE LIFE which was outside TELECOM CHIEF. Rounding the Home Turn, TELECOM CHIEF hung out. In the latter part of the Home Turn, HARMONY PRINCE hung in. About 100 Metres out, GET IT EASY was steadied when disappointed for running between SIR GALWAY and GUSCOTT which had a tendency to shift out. Near the winning post, AMERICAN CHAMPION was crowded for room between SUCCESSFUL SPIRIT and AUTHORISED which shifted in slightly away from HARMONY PRINCE. SUCCESSFUL SPIRIT was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
