Racing Incident Report

Whilst parading, SLOTOP became fractious, dislodged S King. The horse broke loose, on being caught was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and acting on his advice the horse was withdrawn by order of the Stewards. Before SLOTOP can race again, it will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and will need to establish that it can satisfactorily participate in the pre-race parade. On jumping, IRONIC COMMANDER shifted out abruptly, as a consequence of this inconvenience was caused to GONLARGO which was carried onto the heels of RED SUN. When the gates opened, IDOL bounded in the air, threw its head up. Then in the Straight, IDOL, which had been ridden back, was shifted out to find running and go forward. MIGHTY DRAGON left the gates very awkwardly, shifted out, bumped the hindquarters of FLYING FLYING, almost unseating R Fradd. Near the 900 Metres, MIGHTY DRAGON, which was proving very difficult to settle, became unbalanced when awkward on the heels of DEPECHE MODE. G Mossé (FLORAL JOY) was found guilty of a breach of Rule 132(iii) in that he failed to continue to ride his mount out to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the Stewards. After considering all the circumstances of this case, the Stewards deemed the appropriate penalty was that G Mossé be fined a sum of $20,000. SHAXI FORTUNE was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
