Racing Incident Report

When the gates opened, TEMMOKU bounded in the air. HIGH SPIRITS jumped awkwardly, was then checked when crowded between CENTURY HORSE and TAMBORA STAR which on leaving the gates shifted out. Turning out of the Straight the first time, DRAGON POWER checked rather severely when crowded by HIGH SPIRITS which after racing tight on the inside of CENTURY HORSE and coming together with it shifted in slightly. CENTURY HORSE in turn was racing tight inside BELLAGIO. Despite the significance of the check to DRAGON POWER, the Stewards were not able to attribute responsibility to any one rider or riders and in the circumstances decided not to take any action. Near the 1600 Metres, HIGH SPIRITS got its head up when being steadied to avoid the heels of GOOD NEWS. About the 300 Metres, GOOD NEWS and BELLAGIO, which was giving ground, were momentarily crowded for room between TAMBORA STAR and HIGH SPIRITS. Approaching the 200 Metres, CUPID was checked and shifted out when crowded between TEMMOKU and MERRY STAR which was endeavouring to improve on the outside of HIGH SKY. LUCKY SABRE was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
