Racing Incident Report

EASY STAR jumped awkwardly with its head up and shifted out. On jumping, A RUN OF LUCK was checked when crowded between COSMO ONE and MASCOT TREASURE, both of which shifted ground. Also on jumping, MEDIC HERO threw its head about, shifted ground and bumped the hindquarters of COSMO ONE. SAINTLY PARTNERS missed the start slightly, then shifted out abruptly across the heels of COUNTRY DRAGON. About the 1000 Metres, COUNTRY DRAGON, which was awkwardly placed, accidentally clipped the heels of COSMO ONE. W Woods (SAINTLY PARTNERS) was found guilty of careless riding [Rule 132(i)] in that at about the 500 Metres he shifted his mount out when not clear of MEDIC HERO. As a consequence of this, MEDIC HERO lost the running to which it was entitled and was checked. W Woods was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Sunday, 29 October 2000 on which day he may resume race riding. In this case, the suspension is to take immediate effect. For some distance in the early part of the Straight, BORN TO WIN was held up behind COSMO ONE. In the run to the winning post, BORN TO WIN was disappointed for running between MEDIC HERO and SUPERIOR DOLLAR. As a consequence, the horse was not ridden right out to the line.
