Racing Incident Report
Apprentice C P Ting (MANY HAPPY RETURNS) was severely reprimanded for weighing out without a girth. This necessitated the saddle being returned, Apprentice C P Ting having to re-weigh before MANY HAPPY RETURNS was prepared for the race. In the early stages, LOYAL DEVOTION, which was racing wide from a difficult gate, took some time to settle. About the 1400 Metres, SMARTLORD threw its head about when being steadied to avoid the heels of DANSWINNER which shifted out slightly. When SMARTLORD steadied, SCENIC WONDER, which was following, was hampered in consequence. About 100 Metres out, RACE TO HONOUR, which was finishing the race off strongly, shifted out rather abruptly to avoid LOYAL DEVOTION. LOYAL DEVOTION was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
