Racing Incident Report
DANCER jumped awkwardly with its head up. MULTI- WINNER left the gates badly. On jumping, REFRESHINGLY was crowded for room between TOP FIT and WORLD STAR. Just after the start, TOP FIT was steadied when TREASURE STAR momentarily shifted out. About the 1200 Metres, REFRESHINGLY and TREASURE STAR were momentarily crowded between MILLENNIUM DAWN and WORLD STAR. Near the 1100 Metres, REFRESHINGLY and TREASURE STAR were checked when crowded between MILLENNIUM DAWN and WORLD STAR which got its head on the side and momentarily shifted in away from LEAD TO WIN. In view of the circumstances, it was decided no action be taken. At about the 1000 Metres, MILLENNIUM DAWN got its head up, momentarily shifted out and bumped the shoulder of WORLD STAR, causing that horse to become unbalanced on the heels of LEAD TO WIN. The occurrence was accidental. After the race, the Veterinary Surgeon reported that WORLD STAR had sustained a laceration to the inside of its near side front leg. In the middle stages, CLASSIC DANCER hung out and approaching the Home Turn made contact with STARTRICE. About the 600 Metres, BRAVO LONGTEMPS, which was racing tight inside LIGHT PRINT, struck the running rail. Rounding the Home Turn, MILLENNIUM DAWN and MULTI-WINNER raced tight. On straightening, MILLENNIUM DAWN shifted ground. This caused some inconvenience to REFRESHINGLY and TYPHOON. C Brown (REFRESHINGLY) explained he was asked to ride the horse in a handy position if possible which he was able to do although obliged to cover some ground. He said he was crowded about the 1200 Metres and again on the Home Turn when inconvenienced behind MILLENNIUM DAWN, but in all the circumstances he did not believe these incidents were of great significance. He said overall the horse was very disappointing and did not stretch out as he thought it would at any stage and he was unable to offer any real explanation for the disappointing run. REFRESHINGLY was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
